Below are some key tax deadlines for businesses and employers in Q4 of 2024. This list doesn’t cover everything, so there might be other deadlines that apply to you. Reach out to us to make sure you're on track and to learn more about what you need to file.
Note: Some tax deadlines may be extended for those affected by federally declared disasters.
Tuesday, October 1:
Last day to set up a SIMPLE IRA plan if you didn’t already have one. If you start a new business after October 1, you can set up the plan when it’s possible for your business.
Tuesday, October 15:
For calendar-year C corporations that filed for an automatic 6-month extension:
File your 2023 income tax return (Form 1120) and pay any taxes, interest, or penalties.
Make contributions to employer-sponsored retirement plans for 2023.
Thursday, October 31:
Report income tax withholding and FICA taxes for the third quarter of 2024 (Form 941) and pay any taxes due. (See the exception for November 12 below.)
Tuesday, November 12:
If you paid all the required taxes for the third quarter of 2024 on time, file Form 941 by this date.
Monday, December 16:
If a calendar-year C corporation, pay the fourth installment of 2024 estimated income taxes.
